Laura Brookhart has a great article about Helena's Joyce Darby Farm. Joyce has chickens that produces certified organic eggs. She has an open farm days for visitors that are scheduled year round. I just emailed her to see if I can come by one day. It is funny because I was just at Loading Dock South talking about raising chickens. I know it is against the zoning of my house but I would love to have one chicken, just for eggs. Since I can't, I am going to visit and maybe do a post. Here's another one of those things I have wanted to do in Helena.Warehouse Hobby Raceway is now renting racecars. It is 30.00 for an hour, 15 each additional hour and it includes track time. Same here, as far as the fresh eggs go. We've started getting ours at Whole Foods. They're not too terribly expensive, but if I can get them straight from the farm, then that's even better!
NOTE: J.Darby Farm is south of Maylene on Hwy 17. Didn't mean for it to be said to be IN Helena, but conveniently close.
