When I travel to visit relatives, I am always assigned to bring the Milo Tea (and sister rolls). So I was checking out recipes online and I saw the What's Cooking America website has Juanita Daniels of Helena, AL as their Sweet Tea recipe. Yes, Helena's has the official America's Sweet Tea.
Helena Market Days
Helena's Farmer Market will be kicking off in June so the schedule is starting to come together. We will have a Boston Butt BBQ cook off this year so if you would like to be compete for the title of best butt in Helena then email me at nosleepinhelena@gmail.com. It would be great to have a bunch of people completing. I'm trying to think of a name other than the Best Butt in Helena 2012 so if you can think of something... The crowd will help decide who has the best so get ahold of me so we can make this happen. Mary Perko is doing an awesome job getting guest chefs and here are some of the events we have so far:

Church at Cahaba Bend Tenebrae service this Friday.
The Church at Cahaba Bend will hold a Good Friday Tenebrae service Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m. All are welcome at this solemn and moving service leading up to the joy of Easter Sunday.

I was sitting here thinking (I know, dangerous thing to do, LOL) but there are a lot of people who move to Helena every year... myself included. Why not do like a little post about activities to do around/in Helena ... like swimming, festivals, etc... for those of us who'd like to know and just moved here.
