Century Run
A 100 miles bicycle run to supporting the Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers came across Helena on Saturday. Locals Kate Cleveland and Scott Thigpen had a rest stop from the cyclers in Helena off Hwy 52. Scott Thigpen is currently training for the  2,700+ mile Tour Divide race from Canada to Mexico on a mountain bike. You can read more about what he is doing here:driven2divide

Kick-A-Thon
Karate students from all over Alabama descended on Helena on Saturday to participate in a Kick-A-thon. Even the Kung Fu Panda made an appearance to show his support
