Pelham Baseball Win
Pelham wins against Hoover in their final game 7-5 to advance to the third round of the Alabama State playoffs. In the 3rd round they will face Spain Park High School and their first game will be Friday, May 4th at 4:30pm.

La Reunion Idol
The top two finalist of La Reunion Idol are Ashley Partridge and Kristina David! They will have their final competition between each other this Saturday at La Reunion Coffee House in Old Town Helena. The winner gets the prize and will perform at the  Buck Creek Festival .

Creative Concepts
You may remember Ben Clements who creates masterful miniature railroads he has created in Helena. He has a new website called cre8iveconcrete.com for his new business making concrete home decor and other items.  The business name is Creative Concepts.  He also make concrete surfaces, sinks, lamps composed of collectible tins and other unique items.

Dog Breeder Conference

There was a press conference at the Helena Police Department at 10am on Sunday. The interview was to air on Fox News on Sunday Night. At the press conference, Detective Chris Rollan gave an update on the case against a Helena woman who was being charged. On Feb 10th the Helena police received a call about a dead dog by the Air conditioning unit and gave notice to the breeder to dispose of the dog. On Feb 17th the dog was not removed and she was charged with animal cruelty, failure to dispose of an animal and failure to have a business licenses. The trial is suppose to be May the 8th. The situation escalated and Chief Jones and Mayor Penhale requested that the head of DHR come out to the house. I won't go into details about the DHR visit since it involves minors but at that time the poodles were taken from the house.
Sonya Smith (in video below) said there 13 poodles with 2 being babies and 4 are puppies that are in need of homes. She said that Hope Animal Clinic is currently trying to demat the dogs and it took them 5 hours to do two of them. If anyone is willing to donate or help care for theses poodles then contact Two by Two Rescue or go to Hope Animal Clinic in Bessemer.
