World Series
The Helena Sidewinder Baseball team (Ages 11-12) are now in Panama Beach for the wining the league here. We are rooting for you guys!
Congratulations are in order for the winners of the women's 3.0 adult state championship division held in Mobile, Alabama this past weekend. This "melting pot" team collected players from tennis clubs all around the Birmingham area creating a group with one common goal; play hard, have fun and win the state championships!! Now the team heads to the Southern Section Championships July 28-31 to face other winning teams from the Carolina's, Kentucky, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas, MS and; TN. Go, fight, win Darby Dominators!!!

McWane Visits Helena
Today at 2pm McWane Center will visit Helena City Hall as part of the summer programs for the Helena Library. The program is called "Dream Big with Science". They always have great programs and it is a good reason to get the children away from the TV.
Congrats to Alex Wurster who earned scout award last night in Helena.
Olympics
Leah Thornton just missed qualifying for the Olympic team yesterday at the 100 backstroke trials but she on Saturday (June 30), Leah Thornton gets another chance in the second of her two events at the Olympic Trials, the 200 backstroke. Very excited that she is still in the running to represent the USA!
2x2 Reward
Helena’s two by Two Animal Rescue executive director said they helping to solve the Montevallo dog skinning case by passing on $500 from one of their donors to help solve the crime. LINK
