Weekend in Helena

Water Outage
There was a water outage in Helena around 6pm yesterday. One person observed that the waterline broke near Penhale Park. I read the facebook reports by residents who lived in Wyndham, Fieldstone, and Royal Pines. Most neighborhood had their water back around an hour afterwards. I emailed Barbara at the water department to see if she could share some details. I will update this post when I hear back. If you need any help with your water then you can contact them at 205-663-1670 option 1.

Updated: Barbara wrote me back and said the main break was near the entrance to Timber Park. She said they received a flood of calls when it happened in case you were not able to speak with someone.

High School: On a side note, I saw the construction workers had lights up for part of the night and around 20+ workers on site. Update: Jim Wathen said on facebook that once they start pour the foundation that they have to continue until it is done

Yard Sales
This Saturday seems to be a "yard sale weekend" for everyone and the weather should make it wonderful.Also they all have requested no early birds. Apparently people will go to houses at 5-6am and start going through the items and knocking on the door. I didn't know this happens but they are asking that you don't come early.

• Hillsboro is having a neighborhood wide yard sale this Saturday starting at 8am-1pm

• 200 block of River Oaks Drive in Riverwoods is having a Multi-family yard sale. Starts at  7am until 1pm.

• Crystal is having a garage sale at 7547 Spencer Lane in Helena from 6am-12 noon
•  2 family yard sale tomorrow at 113 Roy Court, starts at 7 a.m. Lots of clothes size 4-10

Boyscout Troop
Members of Troop 532 will be at the Alabaster Lowe’s Saturday, September 15, selling Boy Scout popcorn from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is their second fund raiser to go towards the repair of the
Troop bus, affectionately known as “The Pickle”.  Come by and support your local scouts!

Weekend Calendar
Here is what is Happening in Helena this weekend. On Saturday you can swing by the Depot and have PANCAKES and BACON to help the Helena Athletic Association then walk over to the Annual British Motor Show at the Amphitheater "they usually park in the trees". After that, check out the yardsales and retire for the football games. I really miss LaReunion now, because they would always have the Trivia and mellow music during the weekend. If I missed some event in Helena, then let me know and I will add so everyone can join. See you around town!
