Tucker and Nunnelly
I got to see an awesome photo shared by Ken Penhale! It belonged to Mr Nunnelly and it is from 1947. The young man is (in the rather fashionable sweater) is Joe Tucker... Yes that Joe Tucker who had the Helena Park named in Memory. He served on the city council but died of a brain tumor but his lost was felt throughout the community. His grandfather is also the inventor I mention everyone now and then on the blog who tried to patent a vertical take off aircraft before anyone else. The Helena Museum is going to be featured this photo and more in their new exhibit so check it out.
Explorer Sale
The Explorer Yard sales at the Community Center has been postponed. They are still accepting donations. Anyone who would like to donate can contact them at helenapoliceexplorers790@gmail.com
PHS Choral Fundraiser
The choir will be selling these tickets in order to raise money for the Choral department at PHS. The money raised helps pay for their fees, uniforms, competitions and the annual spring trip. If anyone is interested in buying a ticket, they can contact any choral student, or email Donna at dwvildibill@bellsouth.net and she will get someone in touch.
Unusual Lamp
Ben Clements, of Helena, created this and I bought it from his website. His shop site is http://www.etsy.com/shop/cre8iveconcrete .I told him I would post when I set it up in my office but I kept forgetting. Yes, I paid full cost but it wasn't much considering it is an original lamp (art) featuring parts from Helena. It would have cost the same at a Walmart or Target but at least I know who made it, and its history.
