Panthers Maul the Millbrook Mustangs!
The 8th Grade Panthers pulled out a nail biter last night winning 23-22. The team came back from a two touchdown deficit to win in the final seconds of the game. Brett Walton recovered an onside kick which led to the winning touchdown by John Brown! The defense pushed the Mustangs out of the Red Zone in the final minutes with sacks for loss by Brooks Brophy, Devan Walker and Zach Calhoun! Way to fight to the finish, Panthers!
The 7th Grade team also won 42-8 in an impressive offensive and defensive show! The defensive line made a big stop at the goal line saving a touchdown and there were interceptions by Nicholas Cummins, Brooks Tolbert and Landon Green on defense! The offense also came to play with touchdowns scored by multiple players including J.J. Boykin, Kopeland Rosser, Landon Green, Seth Jolley and Lawson Peoples. Remember no touchdown is possible without the hard knocking, tough play of the offensive line: Keenan Williams, Nash Maple, Brandon Evans, Grayson Curtis and Jordan Ayers. Way to go Panthers!
Come out and support your Helena Panthers next week as we take on John Carroll at their home stadium. Game is Wednesday, 10/3/12, at 6:00. Go! Panthers! Go!

Helena's Lori Pannell's family has an interesting business. They are purveyor of Halloween supplies for Central Alabama.
Halloween Express is their family owned business that has been around for 14 years now. Their store is located in hoover and this year they are in the old Blockbuster Video on Hwy. 31 in between Burger King and Purple Onion. Her mom, Elsie, a Pelham resident has ran it for 14 years and she joined her back in 2004. She and her husband have been a Helena resident since 1998.
Her prediction of what will be big sellers:
"For boys Ninja's, Batman, Spiderman. Zombies and Werewolves".
"For Girls Monster High, Lalaloopsy, Dorothy, Vampires and Zombies".
"For men Batman, Thor, Morph suits, werewolves and The Joker".
"For women Sexy superheroes, and Fuzzy Monsters. Our line from Dreamgirl sells the best when it comes to women".
I asked her why they have been a success for so many years? "We're successful because we order a wide variety of costumes from infants to plus size costumes including maternity and even pet costumes. We have the biggest selection of costumes around. We also pride ourselves with great customer service. We love seeing our repeat customers that have been with us from the beginning as well". Here's a coupon from her:
