Thursday in Helena

So Sorry this is running late. I had a ton of meeting relating to Helena and my job at the Insurance IT department. I didnt review it properly so feel free to give me a hard time for grammar and spelling.

Win Alabama Tickets
Papa Saias in Helena will be giving away tickets to the Alabama Mississippi State Game. Come in this weekend and learn how to win. They will draw the tickets on October 20th at 10pm.

Halloween Haunted
Kathy added another Helena Halloween Houses nominee at 128 Arbor Place.

Day After
I had some time to digest the election results. I did exchange some emails with Mark Hall and the new council.  We look forward to working together for Helena. Several people have asked and we are supposed to take office. It should be on the first Monday November but we will receive a 7 day notice for the official details. It will be at that time that all the elected officials will take the Oath.

I do want to add that I think it is really important for Sonny Penhale to stay engaged in the City. I really appreciate his long service to Helena and on a personal level, the time he took his time to listen to me or share information.  He has a lifetime of experience and personal connections with the State and County officials, which is invaluable for Helena.  I hope he will stay as a mentor to the new government and consider helping Helena in a State or County role.

New Students
Laura Brookhart interviewed young students about the first few weeks of school at Helena Elementary. They talk about their favorite books and what they did this Summer.  The picture is from the article.
