4th Grade Team
Penny Miller shared that the Helena Intermediate 4th graders Basketball team won all their games at the  Saturday meet. Way to Go!

Winterguard
Kym posted that the PHS Junior Varisty and Varsity Winterguard team placed 1st and 2nd at the Sunday competition in Lawrenceburg Tn . Way to Go!

Police and Doughnuts
Several Helena Police Officers supported the Children Hospital Of Alabama by running in the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dash this past Weekend. Great Job Guys!

Bell Runnner
Donnette Hulsey is a member of the HERG (Helena Endurance Running Group) that meets in Helena. She is also part of the NBC news team. She will be Bell runner in the Mercedes Marathon in honor of her friend Hilyar Watkins. "Hilyer is a twin born at 29w6d weighing 1lb7oz. He spent 142 days in the NICU. Hilyer has Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) and requires oxygen support. Additionally, he has tube because he never learned to eat successfully".


The Bell Center help hundred of children in the area who are born prematurely, or with spina bifida, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and a variety of other genetic disorders.

Donnette says that "As much as I enjoy running, I try not to take the ability to do so for granted. I am glad to be able to help The Bell Center in honor of Hilyar Watkins. I want to raise $100.00 for every mile I am running". You can support her at Bell Runner.

Library Board
Congrats to Brian Peters and Laura Joseph who were elected officers on the Helena Library Board last week.
Brian will serve as President and Laura as Secretary of the Helena Library Board.

Brian Peters is TV personality as well  as a Meteorologist who does weather consulting for all types of needs especially those involving litigation.

Laura Joseph is the Art Director at North Cape International and the Communications Director for the Shelby County Republican.
