Shelby County Shooting Sports Association

Here is a great program for Helena residents that Sam puts together.

 Fall NRA Basic Rifle
Shelby County Shooting Sports Association would like to announce our annual Fall NRA Basic Rifle Course.  The course is designed for youths age 9-19 and is part of the Alabama 4H program.  The course covers all common rifle types, ammunition, rifle safety and marksmanship.  Most of our live fire exercises will be with air rifles and/or BB guns, but, the Saturday range day will give students the opportunity to shoot various cartridge rifles.  The course also meets the requirements for the BSA Rifle merit badge.

The course will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 and will meet from 6-8 PM for 8 weeks plus a Saturday range day tentatively scheduled for October 28.

Classroom and range time will be at our range at 574 Elvira Rd; Helena, AL 35080.  Everything needed for the course is provided.  Students may continue practicing with the junior club on Monday and Thursday evenings for the Fall semester and may join the club at anytime.  Cost this year for the course will be $65.
